Chezidek Sounds For All to ‘UNITE’
Unite is the third single from Chezidek’s Hello Africa album, which was released this summer.
“So much things going on with black people ‘round the world, so wi have a lot to sey,” Chezidek disclosed.
It seemed Chezidek was destined to espouse black consciousness. The singer was born Desbert Johnson in St Ann, a lush rural parish on Jamaica’s north coast. It is also the birthplace of Pan African icon Marcus Garvey, and reggae legends Bob Marley and Burning Spear.
An elite band of Jamaican musicians worked with Chezidek on Hello Africa. They include keyboardist Robbie Lyn, bass player Donald “Danny Bassy” Dennis and drummer George “Dusty” Miller of The Firehouse Crew, guitarist Mitchum “Khan” Chin and bass player Flabba Holt of Roots Radics Band fame.
His career started as Chilla Rinch 25 years ago, but it is as Chezidek that he made his mark with producers like Philip “Fatis” Burrell of Xterminator Records.
Over the years, he has released eight albums which have yielded songs like the marijuana anthem, Leave The Trees, Call Pon Dem and Mash Dem Down.
Hello Africa is the second collaboration between Tad’s International Record and Chezidek — the first being Herbalist, released in 2009. It is executive produced by Tad Dawkins and Tad Dawkins Jr.
Hello Africa honors the remarkable run of quality recordings Chezidek has produced. Enjoy!
Unite – Chezidek’s 3rdd Single from his Smashing Hit Album, HELLO AFRICA.
Produced by: Desbert ‘ Chezidek’ Johnson.
Executive Producers:Tad A. Dawkins, and Tad A. Dawkins Jnr.
Too often the words “Black Power” invoke a feeling of aggression, hostility, militancy and combativeness, however; that can’t be further from the truth. Made popular by Trinidad born and Howard University graduate Kwame Ture aka Stokely Carmichael, “Black Power” is a means to vocalize and achieve self-determination for a people that have been abused, marginalized, and racially oppressed.
This song is anchored by many voices to include my own, however the most impactful voices are the voices of Jaiden Collins (my son) flanked by el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz aka Malcolm X! The two come from generations far apart, ironically the messages still resonate today. Dedicated to the many lives lost, today we share with you “UNBROKEN”.

As a tumultuous 2020 comes to an end, reggae star Kabaka Pyramid and famed producer and DJ Max Glazer are gifting us with a remarkable body of work with the “IMMACULATE” mixtape.
Boasting an impressive track listing of 27 new and recently released songs, as well as a few customized dubs, “IMMACULATE” features notable collaborations from both established and rising stars of reggae; Namely multi-Grammy winner Damian Marley, Runkus, Pressure Busspipe, Dre Island, Royal Blu, Medisun and Jane Macgizmo
The brainchild of Kabaka and Max Glazer, the “IMMACULATE” mixtape aims to represent the full spectrum of Kabaka’s talent through his prolific lyrics and versatility whether “Kontraband pt 2”, “Trample Dem”, “Nice Up The Dance” or “Mama Earth”. “It was a great experience working on Immaculate with Kabaka. We’ve known each other for years, but this is the first time we have actually worked on a project together and this man is a lyrical force of nature. The only way to describe Kabaka Pyramid is, of course, accurate… and immaculate.” – Max Glazer
Speaking on this exciting project, Kabaka related, “Immaculate is 58 minutes of pure fire and lyricism. It’s possibly my most high energy release to date and even though the message is a must, and these are serious times we in, Immaculate also shows some of the lighter sides to the pyramid. Max really put it together like a classic mixtape, real dj vibes, and it reminds me of my high school days making mix CD’s for our sound Time Bomb. I’m just glad the world is getting to hear all these songs I’ve been going crazy over all year!”
A gift for music fans, the “IMMACULATE” mixtape will be available to stream for FREE on November 25th, 2020 powered by: Bebble Rock Music, Federation Sound and Ghetto Youths International
Kabaka Pyramid is an award winning; conscious revolutionary lyricist with a unique musical style; blending the power, energy and melody of Reggae with the lyricism of Hip Hop. Hailing from Kingston, Jamaica this Bebble Rock Music artist uses his liquid and hypnotizing delivery to spread positive messages of spiritual evolution that forces you to listen.
The name “Kabaka” is Ugandan for “King” and Pyramids are thought by the artist to house the mathematical proportions of Universal Laws that are eminent in the creation of this universe. He seeks to embody these laws in his music, spreading truth and higher knowledge to the people who are prepared to listen.
Aka the breakthrough song. The anthem that allowed Teddyson John to connect with so many of you , especially outside of Saint Lucia. We’ve had some good times with ‘Allez’ haven’t we? Well we’ve recreated Allez in a special way for you. Caribbean Moscato promises to be a soulful journey with pure vibes and energy with my band the Teddyson John Project.
The smooth yet versatile Teddyson John (TJ) appears to be expanding and exciting our musical palates. While he has been subtly hinting and leaving clues, things seem to be officially out the bag, a new and daringly mellow version of TJ’s hit ‘Crème de la Crème’ (special edition) featuring St. Lucian hip-hop star Kayo, was unveiled, off his upcoming 2020 album ‘Caribbean Moscato’.
Caribbean Moscato is a highly musical but perfectly balanced piece, with soulful vocals and lightly intoxicating solos. A creation of Teddyson John, the TJ Project and 238 Square Miles, Caribbean Moscato is a unique and moving experience for all.
“As a Saint Lucian Brand(Music) Ambassador, being able to create this masterpiece with a partner like 238 Square Miles, whose purpose is authentic St. Lucian and Caribbean storytelling through art, creativity and passion; we believe this album has the potential to inspire other creatives to develop new interpretations of their art.” TJ expressed.
Crème de la Crème (special edition) can be streamed, downloaded and purchased on iTunes, Tidal, Deezer and Spotify. Buy and listen to Crème De La Crème via: https://li.sten.to/qwL8NDg
Spice and Frankie Music collaborate
Dancehall artiste Spice has teamed with Frankie Music Productions for her latest single titled Head. The song had its local premiere on Thursday.
This is the first time that Spice has worked with the Marverly based label. On the track, she can be heard singing about relationship issues.
The release of Head comes on the heels of Spice taking to social media and revealing the identity of her new love interest Justin Budd.
“Spice is full of energy and is very hardworking,” said producer Frankie.
“I’m happy to have been able to work with such an extraordinary talent”.
The song sees the entertainer expressing the ‘softer’ side of her craft, and is expected to do extremely well.
“I’d like to do a song that’s different and very personal to me,” said Spice
