The Fresh Prince of JA Riddim is a dancehall / hip-hop fusion riddim compilation produced by News of Money Matters Entertainment/Dutty Rock Productions. The riddim features world-renowned reggae singer, Tarrus Riley with the title track âThe Fresh Prince Of JAâ, dancehall trendsetter Chi Ching Ching with âInto Meâ, Future Fambo returns with âYA YA YA YA YA YAâ and Sotto Bless with âNever Leaveâ. The Fresh Prince of JA Riddim is set to make waves as the songs are fresh, edgy and has a unique vibe that is characteristic of all good dancehall/hip hop party beats. It is obvious that News is the son of Michigan of the 80âs chart-topping dynamic duo Michigan & Smiley who had the hit âDiseasesâ because Tarrus Riley alluded to it in the title track. He is currently the Label Manager for Sean Paulâs Dutty Rock Productions and has spearheaded the production of riddims such as No Caption Riddim Callaloo Riddim and Gang Gang Riddim to name a few.
Just in time for the summer season and your favorite playlist, “Wiggle Wiggle” delivers an updated version of a nostalgic favorite dancehall era. “Iâve noticed a lot of conversations about where dancehall is today with some raving about it and others not so much. Iâve also noticed a lot of credit being given to places and people with no regard to the Jamaican originators. Personally, I consider the new wave of âdancehallâ as a subgroup of the 90s sound many are longing for.” – Malica. “Because of this I felt it was imperative to carry on the dancehall sound while still integrating some of my Fusion style in my vocal delivery. Teaming up with my co-writers Crystal Tais, Abe Williams Jr, Charles âDr Doâ Davids & Hamali helped solidify the âhappy effectâ that you find in some of the most popular dancehall songs. I feel itâs imperative that even if we create other new and incredible styles we canât neglect the pioneering sounds by straying too far from the mold. Who better to do that with than Bulby York & The KING of The Dancehall Beenie Man.â
