Continuing the sensuous side of Vershon that we saw in 2017 with his global smash ‘Inna Real Life’. ‘Stick By Me’ highlights Vershon’s versatility as an artist, while maintaining the emotionally charged lyricism we are used to from him, coupled by his melismatic vocals.

The music video is a modern-day love story filmed in Fort Lauderdale, downtown Miami where Vershon now resides. It’s a flag in the sand moment for Vershon creatively as he shoots ‘Stick By Me’ in his new hometown, marking the beginning of a new journey in his life.

Speaking on ‘Stick By Me’ and working with The Fanatix and Plan B Vershon says “Stick By Me’, is my third release from my new EP and was created whilst working with producer artist team ‘The FaNaTiX’. The FaNaTiX were in Montego Bay running a writing camp and on one of these occasions, Plan B was there working with them, they introduced us and encourage him to get involved in our session. Plan B joined us at the table with a bunch of laptops, a microphone set up and a room full of vibes and energy. It was days later, when my managers and FaNaTiX sent me links to his music, that I learnt who he is, his musical achievements, his work in the Film Industry as an actor and Director, and his charity work with young people, Plan B/Ben is cool and humble.”

Vershon has a unique style and lyrical choice and his name has quickly become synonymous with that of infectious music, his forthcoming six track EP masterfully balances his credibility with an international pop sensibility and bridges the gap between London and Jamaica assisted by a carefully curated line-up of guest features.

Alicai Harley – I Just Wanna Know

Alicai Harley - I Just Wanna Know

After a slew of collaborations earlier this year, exciting London-based artist Alicai Harley is back with her new single ‘I Just Wanna Know’, out today via Parlophone.
Sampling R&B classic ‘Leaving (Always On Time Part II)’ by Ashanti, ‘I Just Wanna Know’ sees Alicai channeling a new energy to her previous singles, paying homage to the original track’s early noughties vibe.. Throughout the track, Alicai makes smooth transitions between singing and rapping, the latter of which is a nod to the artist’s earlier music days and a testament to her versatility as an artist.
Speaking about ‘I Just Wanna Know’, Alicai muses, “this song reminds me of my younger self… back when I was rapping. That’s what I wanted to bring back. And it’s touching on real subjects, on a real relationship. I wanted this to feel like my own version of 50 Cent’s ‘21 Questions.’”
A romantic visual starring Alicai in tinged blue and pink-tinged silky backdrops respectively, the video for the track sees her caressing her significant other and writing in her notebook as she muses on the dilemmas of her relationship.
‘I Just Wanna Know’ marks her first official single release of 2020, following collaborations throughout the year. Her most recent was a killer verse on the official remix for M.I.A & Cadenza’s fire tune ‘Up Inna’ alongside rapper BEAM, which followed collabs with Afro-Dancehall superstar Stonebwoy (‘Understand’), dance music legend DJ Zinc (‘Bubble’) and respected producers Jim Ouma (‘Kids’).
Alicai Harley first broke through with ‘Gold’, an irresistible slice of summer which was heavily supported by an array of tastemakers, including Seani B, DJ Target, Sian Anderson, Mistajam, Toddla T, David Rodigan, Trevor Nelson, and Charlie Sloth across BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra. Across Capital Xtra, she has garnered support from Robert Bruce, Rad Kwame, Manny Norte, Tim Westwood, Yinka and Shayna Marie amongst others. She also recently made a number of incredible virtual performances across Notting Hill Carnival weekend, at events hosted by BBC Radio 1Xtra and Island Records.
Showing the range and depth of her musical talents, Alicai Harley is a UK artist destined for the top.

Alicai Harley – Tek It To Dem

Alicai Harley - Tek It To Dem
Alicai Harley is back and stunning us with her latest track and accompanying visuals for ‘Tek It To Dem’. Set in Tivoli Gardens, in Alicai’s hometown of Kingston, Jamaica – the video takes us on a journey across the vibrant region, a theme often seen in Harley’srecent visuals. As the track progresses, we see Alicai performing on a rooftop overlooking the city, dripping in a gold look, and surround by locals – all whilst looking flawless.

Originally, the track was a freestyle which Alicai posted on her socials, however an explosive reaction led to her officially recording the song. The release of ‘Tek It To Dem’also coincides with her mother’s birthday. In ‘Tek It To Dem’ Alicai pays homage to her beloved mother Vanny, making several references about her during the track including, “Mi mummy raised a queen” and “Vanny’s pickney”. This track allows Harley to appreciate the person who made her who she is today.

'Tek It To Dem' literally means ‘Go For It,’ ‘Give It To Dem,’ ‘Be Great’ – the song is me expressing my belief in God’s timing. It was only right that I went back home to Jamaica to  shoot the video as it’s had such a big influence on my sound” says Alicai.
