Casely x System32 - Light It Up

(Miami, FL) “Light It Up,” Casely’s latest single is set to release May 27th and distributed by Tuff Gong International. it’s going to set the tone for this summer. The Miami-born artist is continuing to explore his Caribbean and Latin roots through his music, and the fusions continue to rock dance floors and platforms across the country.

“I’m really excited to release this record because it continues the journey bringing my audience deeper into my roots and getting a better understanding of who I am as an artist… I wrote this song right before we went into lockdown and the tribal elements in the music always gave me a vision of a people breaking free from their limits mentally. This is a song that I want people to feel both relief and release.”
Casely.

After many successful collaborations with the likes of Pitbull, Flo Rida, and Red Rat, Casely is finding his own sound more and more, and taking his audience through a musical journey. While this song in particular is meant to be played loud, be danced and whined to, it’s packed with thoughtful lyrics about how we relate to music and how it can influence us positively.

This is but the beginning for Casely. He’s on a path to continue to release music that’ll make you move to the beat of the drum(s), while keeping your ear tuned to the depth and intricacy of his lyrics and style. “Light It Up” will be on all digital platforms on May 27th, be sure to keep an eye out for this and every single released in the coming season.

Masta Recka – Ghetto John Crow

Masta Recka - Ghetto John Crow

The renaissance man of Reggae Dancehall Masta Recka has released his new single titled “Ghetto John Crow,” a song that shines a different perspective on crimes plaguing the Ghetto. “Instead of preaching the same thing every day, I focused on the art of storytelling,” said Recka. “Tales of parents’ pain, jealousy, and corruption.” The single produced by Rupert Green (a.k.a. Masta Recka / ZYFEX CEO) for the ZYFEX label is distributed by Tuff Gong International and is available now on all digital services worldwide.

Masta Recka, a former member of the U.S. Army, grew up in Water House, one of the most feared Garrisons in Kingston. Memories of friends and family who lost their lives to senseless killing prompted Recka to write “Ghetto John Crow.” His clever lyrical scheme is often compared to that of dancehall master lyricist Vybz Kartel. Masta Recka is one of the few dancehall artists who is also an author (R.J. Green), his book “Tanny Anderson – Barefoot, Prickles & Thorns peaked at #6 on amazon in 2010.

With a diverse background in Theater, Science, and an MBA in International Business, Masta Recka also produced songs for several Jamaican artists, including Stylysh, True Blaxxx, Cuz Diego, KQrios, and is the co-producer of “Love Lost” by Twiggi.

The video for Ghetto John Crow is scheduled to be released in early June. Recka is currently in the studio working on several new projects, including soundtracks for a movie he plans to start filming this year.

One of Masta Recka’s wishes is for more fans to join and support artists who made great contributions to the genre. “Fans should support their favorite artists by purchasing or sharing their music,” said Recka. Get your copy of Ghetto John Crow and spread the word, ending crime is the key.

The Redemption Project

The Redemption Project

Kingston-based production powerhouse Nuh Rush Records (distributed by Tuff Gong International) has released its latest offering, titled The Redemption Project, available now at all DSPs and streaming services. Hearkening back to the golden days of reggae, The Redemption Project is built around a Nyabinghi drum riddim — widely considered to be the heartbeat of the reggae genre and the Rastafarian faith — that inspired eleven conscious roots songs for this collection by a diverse list of Jamaican vocalists including Busy Signal, Queen Ifrica, Turbulence feat. Sunny Trad, Lutan Fyah, Tony Curtis, Kananga, Natural Black, Nature Ellis, Gott-Yo, Don G, and Guidance.

With titles like dancehall superstar Busy Signal’s “Never Get Tired,” Guyana-born singer Natural Black’s “Serious Times,” Kananga’s “Stronger,” and Queen Ifrica’s “Predator’s Paradise,” it’s clear that themes of strength, pride, and resistance are woven throughout the entire album.

An active community leader in her native Jamaica, with roots firmly planted in the Rastafarian faith, Queen Ifrica explained the meaning behind her contribution to The Redemption Project:

“‘Predators Paradise’ is a staunch look at how reality plays out in our everyday life. The lyrics suggest that there are so many people around the world who carry very dark experiences, while the people who are the ones who have affected them in that way are allowed to move about in society someway somehow so it’s about acknowledging that fact in the realness of sense.”

An official video for “Predator’s Paradise” in the final edit stages, while more visuals from The Redemption Project are currently being filmed.

Since its release, selections from the album have been featured in heavy rotation on Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Radio (channel 19) on SiriusXM, who are currently offering a free trial subscription.

Nuh Rush chief Junior Brown added “‘ The Redemption Project’ took two years in production and we are excited to finally share it with the masses.”
