Too often the words "Black Power" invoke a feeling of aggression, hostility, militancy and combativeness, however; that can't be further from the truth. Made popular by Trinidad born and Howard University graduate Kwame Ture aka Stokely Carmichael, "Black Power" is a means to vocalize and achieve self-determination for a people that have been abused, marginalized, and racially oppressed.
This song is anchored by many voices to include my own, however the most impactful voices are the voices of Jaiden Collins (my son) flanked by el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz aka Malcolm X! The two come from generations far apart, ironically the messages still resonate today. Dedicated to the many lives lost, today we share with you "UNBROKEN".
