– Kelly Shane Tantalizes with A Little Love
Kelly Shane is making her own lasting impressions on the music scene, with vocals that capture attention and interest. Her new single, A Little Love, released by Tad’s Record is indicative of her talent and intent to showcase her diversity as a singer. “I feel like falling into and eventually losing love is a recurring theme in my music and life, but I’m such a lover girl at heart, I will never hesitate to dive into it,” Kelly Shane shares.
While her recent releases have been predominantly cover tracks, Kelly Shane reveals that this project is the most stripped down song she has recorded so far; which she kept as simple as possible so that the sentiments could seep through every note and melody. But why A Little Love? According to Kelly Shane, her mother renowned Reggae singer and song writer, Tanya Stephens,had initially requested that she sing A Little Love. However, it was finding love that sealed her commitment to lay the track. “I just happened to record it while I was in a new love, before I could see the intricacies of it so it mirrored what I was feeling in my personal life at the time. One of the most interesting coincidences I’ve seen in my career so far”.
Whilst this is not the first time that a Jamaican artist has recorded and added their own twist to this classic love track, Kelly Shane’s rendition, accompanied by the conga drum and the acoustic sound of the guitar, offers a sincere and simplistic sound that showcases her vocal depths and ethereal melody.
When asked about her plans for future projects that might build on the themes explored in this release, Kelly Shane said, “Honestly, I just hope I’m invited to become a part of the soundtrack of people’s lives. I’d love to know that we’ve cried and laughed and loved together”.
