Mr Easy – Caribbean Ting – STREAM NOW: https://lnkfi.re/mr_easy-caribbean_ting

Dancehall fans identify Mr. Easy with anthems like ‘She Drives me Crazy’ and ‘Bashment Gal’, but he welcomes the opportunity to record outside his comfort zone. Which is what he did with ‘Caribbean Ting’, one of the songs from ‘Soca Jam EP’.

Caribbean Ting’ was released on July 11 by Finatic Records.

Mr. Easy says recording to a soca ‘riddim’ was simple because of his love for that genre.

“I’ve always been a fan of soca music, especially the original artists from in the ‘80s who I grew up on like Lord Kitchener and Calypso Rose. My approach was different, the way I delivered my vocals on the beat. I had to style it differently with a different style of wordplay,” he explained.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica’s capital, Mr. Easy migrated to the United States in his early teens. His big break came when he signed with Qwest Records, owned by super producer Quincy Jones. His first album, ‘Call Me Mr. Easy’, was released by that label in 1995.

‘Soca Jam’ by Grub Cooper and ‘Roll Your Waist’ by Honorebel are other songs from ‘Soca Jam EP’.
