– Leroy Sibbles Directs New Various Artistes Reggae Juggling
Most Reggae fans know of Leroy Sibbles’ skills as a lead singer and bass guitarist on countless classic songs. Not many of them are aware of his track record as a music producer.
The musical world will get an opportunity to appreciate Leroy Sibbles’ directive touches on ‘Presenting Leroy Sibbles, a compilation album of songs he produced by different artistes.
This sensational juggling, Presenting Leroy Sibbles, is released by Tad’s International Record.
It showcases tracks such as ‘Cool Natty’ by Young Garvey which Sibbles said inspired the project.
“I’ve been putting this compilation album together for about three years now. I made the music track for Young Garvey’s single called ‘Cool Natty’ and it was so good that I figured I’d share it with some friends. And that’s how the album came about,” he explained.
Sibbles’ impressive legacy was largely fashioned at Studio One, the legendary recording studio in Kingston, Jamaica. As lead singer and chief songwriter for The Heptones, he wrote or sang on hits like ‘Baby be True’, ‘Equal Rights’, ‘Sweet Talking’ and ‘I’ve Got The Handle’.
Leroy Sibbles was just as prolific on bass, playing on Cornel Campbell’s ‘Queen of The Minstrel’, ‘Skylarking’ by Horace Andy and ‘Door Peep’ by Burning Spear.
