Reggae Powerhouse Band proudly announces the release of Reggae Powerhouse Band & Friends: Series 2, the long-awaited follow-up to their acclaimed 2020 album, Reggae Powerhouse Band & Friends. Released on the Reggae Powerhouse Band record label with distribution through Tuff Gong International, this new album brings together artists from Jamaica and Africa in a celebration of reggae music and cultural connection.
The project builds on the success of Series 1 (2020), a 16-track album featuring artists including Luciano, Black Uhuru, Michael Rose, and Sizzla. That release showcased songs such as “Roots,” “Freedom,” and “Nothing Nah Gwaan,” helping establish Reggae Powerhouse Band’s commitment to authentic reggae music.
With Series 2, the vision expands through a new set of collaborations that unite established and emerging voices across borders. Featured tracks include:

• “Africa” – Sizzla, Don Dada (South Africa) & Mr. Lee

At the center of the project is Leroy Scarlett, known internationally as Mr. Lee, a Jamaican producer and recording artist based in Kingston. As the creator and executive producer of the Reggae Powerhouse Band series, Mr. Lee has worked alongside artists including Luciano, Gregory Isaacs, Fred Locks, Sly & Robbie, and Capleton throughout his career.In addition to producing the album, Mr. Lee appears throughout the album as a performer in his own right, putting this artistic stamp on the project.
From Kingston to Johannesburg and beyond, the project brings together artists who share a common goal: keeping reggae music strong, relevant, and connected to its roots.More than a collection of songs, Reggae Powerhouse Band & Friends: Series 2 represents a commitment to the continued growth of reggae music across generations and geographic boundaries.
