DANCEHALL ARTIST SHIFTA RETURNS WITH AN UNEXPECTED SOCA BLEND JUST IN TIME FOR MIAMI CARNIVAL
After taking a break from music, Shifta is back but not in the way anyone expected.
Known for his Dancehall roots, the Miami-based artist wasn’t planning on moving into Soca. In fact, after some time away, Shifta’s return took an unexpected turn when he stepped outside of his usual sound, caught a vibe, and ended up creating an infectious Soca record.
What started as simply having fun quickly became a song that felt too good not to release and with Miami Carnival right around the corner, the timing almost feels meant to be.
It’s an unexpected sound for Shifta’s return, but one that feels natural showing his versatility while still carrying the Caribbean influence, energy, and personality that have always been part of who he is as an artist.
After some time away, Shifta is back, the vibe is different, and this time he’s bringing some Soca with him.
Here’s Shifta with his latest release, “Last One Leaving.”
