Cyclone Music Group, in partnership with HungryBelly Records, is proud to announce the worldwide release of the Tears of Life riddim, available now on all major digital platforms. This reggae project, featuring an international lineup, delves into themes of love, resilience, and the challenges of life, offering a soulful and uplifting musical experience.
The Tears of Life riddim features a star-studded ensemble of 10 artists from four countries: the USA, Jamaica, Kenya, and the Bahamas. Among the standout names is Ras Shiloh, a respected artist from Brooklyn, New York, who has been away from the music forefront for some time. Ras Shiloh’s return to the scene with this project marks a significant moment in his career, reaffirming his powerful presence in reggae music. His signature style and voice bring a renewed energy to the riddim, captivating both long-time fans and new listeners.
Also featured is Ms. Cathy Matete, a talented and award-nominated artist from Nairobi, Kenya, whose remarkable voice has earned her a place among Africa’s most celebrated reggae talents. Cathy’s recent European tour has further solidified her status as an international force in the reggae genre. Her contribution to Tears of Life brings a distinct inspirational flavor, showcasing her dynamic style that has earned recognition across the globe. With her powerful vocals, Cathy adds depth and richness to the riddim’s diverse soundscape.
The project was originally conceived as a single, “Love Cry” by Avaran, but evolved into a full-length riddim album as additional artists joined the collaboration. Alongside Avaran, the riddim features contributions from Jamaican soulful artist Kristine Alicia and the unique voice of the Bahamas own Jah Hem, as well as several rising talents from the Bahamas, including Aydee, Rycon and Nevandria Lyric.
The Tears of Life riddim, produced by Preston “Cyclone” Stuart of Cyclone Music Group/Avaran Rolle of Hungrybelly Records and was mixed and mastered by Delroy “Phatta” Pottinger at Anchor Studios in Kingston (Jamaica), also features a special appearance from renowned saxophonist Dean Fraser, whose soulful solos provide an added layer of musical depth. The album is curated by the creative direction of both producers and blends the talents and sounds of multiple cultures to create a truly global project.
Distributed exclusively by VPAL Music, the Tears of Life riddim is now available on all major digital platforms. This project stands as a testament to the power of music to bring together artists from different backgrounds, transcending borders and uniting listeners worldwide in a shared celebration of life’s challenges and triumphs.
